Cognitive Ease Contributes to Spread

I just realized that maybe many media editors want this pandemic to go on for as long as possible. Why not, this news is bigger than Y2K! Anyone else sick of the media?

I just read another news report sharing a study that showed the particles will float in the air for hours before falling. Then they talk to someone else who claims that won't happen because when people sneeze or cough those droplets are heavy and fall too fast. That statement automatically causes cognitive ease in readers to think it isn't airborne. But it is.

It's like these reporters look for that "expert" who'll say such things, who probably don't know this virus spreads much like Rubeola, the Measles virus. It spreads through the air - from the breath of infected people who are asymptomatic - they are not coughing or sneezing yet.

The Measles is considered the most infectious disease because it can hang in the air that got there from infected people merely breathing, and it has a longer incubation period, meaning more infected people walking around spreading it without knowing it - who are not coughing or sneezing.

Face Masks: Asia vs. U.S.A.

Seeing Japanese people wearing facemasks was a common thing the last time I visited Japan, 13 years ago. Those I saw wearing facemasks were in high enough frequency it was remarkable to me. The Japanese I worked with over there described wearing masks as a proven method to prevent spreading illness and their civic duty to wear them if they're ill. Today you'll see most Japanese wearing facemasks. Could that have contributed to why they have only one case of COVID-19 in every 120,500 people and 30% fewer deaths, while the U.S. has one case in every 12,325 people? We have only 2.6 times as many citizens in the U.S.A. but we have 26 times more geographically area than Japan, making them 10 times as densely populated, and that is conservative given most of the population is in less than half the area. Ultraviolet Radiation on SARS-CoV2

Just sharing my thoughts on the impact of Ultraviolet (UV) light in sunlight on deactivating the Coronavirus. I've read articles and news reports saying sunlight doesn't kill the virus. I think they wrote such simply because Trump said it did. They mentioned the various wavelengths of UV light and how only the shortest are effective at deactivating the virus. They only offered an opinion about its lack of effectiveness against SARS-CoV2 citing past studies loosely relevant to back various points of their opinion. But they did not themselves study the effect of sunlight on the virus. There are three bands (range of wavelengths) of UV light identified based on their interactions with biological material. Understand that a band is a range of wavelengths. The shorter wavelengths are the most dangerous to genetic material.
